A set of 4 glazed ceramic tiles that I bought while on a trip to Xi'an, China, the site of the famous Terracotta Warriors. The top two tiles combine together to form a dragon whereas the bottom two form a phoenix. In the Chinese culture, the dragon represents good luck, strength, health and also the male element "yang". The dragon is unique because it is the only mythical creature of all the animals in the Chinese zodiac. The phoenix represents power sent from the heavens to the Empress and also represents the female element "yin". If a phoenix is used to decorate a house it symbolizes that loyalty and honesty were in the people that lived there and represents good fortune, good luck and harmony. Typically, the phoenix represents the queen and the dragon the emperor in Chinese design and also represent the perfect balance of yin and yang. These tiles have never been used and have no visible chips. They measure 6" x 6" and would look amazing as part of a backsplash in a Kitchen or Bathroom or could be assembled as part of a wall display. They will be carefully packed with plenty of bubble wrap and shipped with tracking.
